How to Come to Tianjin

It is convenient to come to Tianjin.

There are direct airlines between Tianjin and Hong Kong, Seoul, Nagoya and Kuala Lumpur, etc.

It is also convenient to transfer at Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, etc. There are direct airlines between Tianjin with almost all the main cities of mainland China.

However, it is probably much more convenient to fly to Beijing Capital Airport (PEK) for participants from overseas. PEK is located in the northeast of Beijing city and is very close to Tianjin (about 160 kilometers, two and a half hours ride by airport shuttle bus). Airport Shuttles, trains and Metered taxis are available heading for Tianjin.

If you arrive at Beijing Capital Airport(PEK) by air, there are three ways to get to Tianjin:

By airport shuttle (recommended):

The best way to arrive at Hui Bin Garden Hotel from PEK is to take the airport shuttle bus from PEK to Tianjin and then take a taxi  to Hui Bin Garden Hotel. The shuttle service runs every half an hour. The bus stops at the ticket office of Air China in Tianjin.

Location:

Parking Lot opposite to Arrival Gate #15.

Destination:

The crossing of Nanjing Road and Shanxi Road in Tianjin .

Frequency:

A shuttle leaves Beijing Airport every half an hour from 7:00 to 23:00.

Fare:

RMB 70 per person (which is about 11 - 12 US Dollars)

If you plan to take the airport shuttle, please make sure that you get to the right one. The whole ride from Beijing to Tianjin takes about two and a half hours. This is a card you can show to the shuttle driver.

Once you get to Tianjin , you can take a taxi to Huibin Garden Hotel. The taxi fare to the hotel is around RMB 20 (around USD 3 - 4). No tip is required. This is a card you can show to the driver if you live in Hui Bin Garden Hotel.

By intercity high speed train (between Beijing and Tianjin):

If you do not speak Chinese, it is not recommended to get to Tianjin by train unless you already have tickets. The fare is RMB 58 per person (about USD 10), which runs every 10 minutes, with the journey taking about 30 minutes. You will need to get to Beijing Southern Railway station to take the train.

Once you get to Tianjin Railway Station, you can take a taxi to Hui Bin Garden Hotel.

By taxi directly from Beijing Capital Airport:

Taxi Station: between Parking Lot and No. 2 Air Terminal at Beijing Capital International Airport.

Rate for taxis: RMB 10 for the first 3km , then RMB 2.0/km. For a one-way trip, an additional 50% will be charged per km in case the distance is over 15km. The taxi fare from Beijing Capital Airport to Huibin Garden Hotel is around RMB 600 (about USD 95). No tip is required for taxi in China.
